Our Story
Tired of being told what to eat, what not to eat, how to eat for my cycle, my skin, my symptoms… all while trying to navigate low iron, unpredictable moods, and a body that felt like it was constantly playing catch up.
I used to be vegan. It felt like the “healthiest” choice — until I hit a wall. My iron dropped, my energy crashed, and my body was clearly asking for more. So I started eating meat again… but only if it was organic, ethically raised, and actually nutritious. Still, I didn’t want to just eat meat. I wanted to eat intentionally — in a way that honoured my hormones, my energy, my cycle.
Enter: the never-ending rabbit hole of cycle syncing. I'd try planning my meals around my luteal phase — think root veg, slow carbs, grounding foods. But by the time I actually did the research and hit the shops… surprise! I was already bleeding. And it was back to square one.
I didn’t start Genesis because I wanted to run a meal company. I started it because I was bloody exhausted.
There’s nothing more powerful than knowing your food is working with your body — gently balancing your hormones, calming your nervous system, and supporting your cycle without you having to obsess over it.
So many women I know — especially those with PCOS, endo, post-pill symptoms, or postpartum bodies — are trying to figure it all out alone. We're Googling everything. Screenshotting TikToks. Buying supplements we don’t understand. Getting conflicting advice from our GP and our gut. It’s exhausting. And ironically, all that stress just makes our symptoms worse.
We cook for your cycle. For your symptoms. For that new-mum fog. For when you want to eat in a way that actually supports you, not punishes you. And yes, we do it in beautiful jars because we believe food should look as good as it tastes, and taste as good as it makes you feel.
I wanted to open my fridge and feel held — like someone had thought about me. Like someone had actually seen me. Especially in the postpartum period, where so many women are expected to bounce back when they haven’t even had time to eat a real meal.
We can’t always guarantee a doula, or a partner who gets it. But we can guarantee that your meals will be warm, nourishing, protein-rich, and deeply supportive of your healing.
I didn’t want to dread dinner because I was too tired to think. I wanted to open my fridge and feel like someone had already cared for me — like the meal I needed was already waiting.
Postpartum shouldn’t mean eating cold toast over your baby’s head at 3pm. It should mean soft, warm food that holds you as you hold them — meals designed to nourish you back to life.
Because when your fridge is full of meals made for you, there’s nothing to force or figure out. You’re not fighting cravings or falling off track. You’re just… flowing. Supported by food designed with your body, your hormones, and your healing in mind.
That’s the Genesis difference.
We didn’t just create food.
We created food that knows you.
